SumoSprings or Air Bags for a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD

Question:

2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab 4x4 pulling a 20foot Coachman travel trailer 5,000 lbs. loaded with Reese equalizer hitch. Would you recommend the Airlift 5000 ultimate airbags or the SumoSprings solo mounts or other? Based on another QandA, the Timbren rubber springs would be too hard for everyday driving.

Between SumoSprings and Air Bags, I recommend going with a set of Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air bags. They offer better all around support and are adjustable. There are two options for your truck depending on what length bed you have. Both options are compatible with in bed hitches and work with 4WD trucks.

With 8' Bed - Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs item # AL57211

Without 8' Bed - Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs item # AL57204

These springs have a 5,000 lbs load leveling capacity. You will want to set the PSI in the air bags up before you adjust your weight distribution system.

I have linked a couple of installation videos below.

I also recommend adding the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System item # AL25980 to control your air bags remotely from the comfort of your cab without having to rely on finding an air compressor.

You are correct the Timbrens item # TGMRCK15S are going to be too stiff and make your ride extremely uncomfortable.
