Question:
My boss bought a Bulldog 7,500 Lb Powered Driven Jack for a trailers tandem jacks. The control for the powered jack has a 25amp breaker on it. Can it run off just the tow vehicle 7 blade rv plug or does it need a battery? His truck is a 2020 Dodge 2500 Cummins diesel.

Expert Reply:
Most 12 volt accessory 7-way circuits are rated for more than 25 amps so there's a good chance the jack setup would work just fine being powered from this circuit. I would check the fuse for this circuit under the hood of the truck and make sure it's higher than 25 but it should be. Also make sure the circuit is at least using 10 gauge wire like the part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot.
