Can Curt Echo and 7-Way Lamp Out Adapter be Held to 7-Way of MB Sprinter 3500

Question:

I have a 2020 MB Sprinter 3500 chassis RV. 7 way trailer plug does not have 12v constant. I also use a Curt wireless brake controller. If I plugged in the trailer connector adapter then the Curt brake controller it will stick out to far with no support to prevent it from falling onto road. Any suggestions? Thinking I may just have to run a wire from 12v + to battery.

The Curt Echo Mobile Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 does require the 7-way it's installed in to have the 12 volt accessory circuit active. So you would need to run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) through a breaker like part # 9510 to the vehicle battery positive post. The brake controller has a strap that holds it to the 7-way it's installed in but if you were going to use it with the part # 20142 the strap would basically hold it to the adapter.

The lid of your vehicle 7-way is designed to latch onto the # 20142 to hold it in place. For added security you could use a band clamp (with wing nut for easier use) to hold the 7-way lid down harder on the adapter.
