Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a Rotating Pin Box on a 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 w/ Puck System

Question:

I have a Reese Sidewinder on my 5th wheel trailer. I need a standard hitch even though I have a short bed truck. Which one should I use because some are not compatible and then some say they don't fit? I have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 with the 6-3/4 foot bed and the GM towing prep package.

We have two options for 5th wheel hitches depending on the weight of your 5th wheel trailer. Both of them will fit in the puck system of your 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 and they are compatible with the Reese Sidewinder and all rotating pin boxes. I have listed them both below:

20,000 lbs capacity - B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package item # BWRVK3710

25,000 lbs capacity - B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package item # BWRVK3715

The Companion's 1" thick dual jaws will give you a 360-degree jaw to kingpin contact. This system minimizes the chucking, jarring, and noise that can occur when towing a 5th wheel trailer. This not only provides a more secure connection but also a quieter more comfortable towing experience.

The Companion also has a cam-action latching handle that helps you to uncouple your trailer even if the terrain isn't level. The fully articulating head also helps to improve your ride quality while easing the effort put into hooking up to your trailer.

Both B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches weigh right at 150 lbs and are made in the USA.

I have linked an installation video below along with a picture so you can see what the Companion looks like installed.

Don't forget your lube plate. The Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10" Diameter item # 16721 will prevent scratches on your fifth-wheel's skid plate and ease trailer hookup.
