Charging Battery of Tow Vehicle Using Magnetic Tow Lights
Question:
I installed a blue ox base plate on my Subaru Crosstrek to flat tow. My plan for stop/brake/tail lights is to use magnetic mount wireless lights on the back of the Subaru. I would also like to add a battery maintainer to keep the Subaru battery charged. My RV has a 7way socket. If I plug the wireless transmitter into the 7 way socket, what options due I have to add a connector to the back of my RV so I can route 12vdc to my tow vehicle?

You will have to use magnetic tow lights that plug into a 4-way, as you can't charge your battery using magnetic tow lights that plug into a 7-way. So first what you'll need to do is replace your motorhome's 7-way with one that has a dual 7-way and 4-way, the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-, 5- and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48470.
Then you'll need a wired magnetic light kit that plugs into the 4-way, the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120.
This will leave your 7-way open to pin the 12 volt wiring (if you need to) with the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75 and Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25.
