Recommended Bulb Seal For An RV Ramp Door With A 1/4" Gap

Question:

My old ramp door seal is a 3/4 inch wide 1/2 inch tall hollow D shaped seal that compresses down to 1/4 inch when closed. I like the SR76ZR but being a inch tall it might be difficult to compress down to a 1/4 inch and latch the door. Will the SR26ZR Work better for me in this situation as a ramp door seal, Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:

I went out to the warehouse and compressed both the # SR26ZR and the # SR76ZR and found that the # SR26ZR is approximately 3/8" thick when fully compressed and that the # SR76ZR compresses down to just a hair past 1/4".

The base of the # SR26ZR is a lot thicker than it looks in the pictures so the # SR76ZR is going to be your best bet to properly seal the opening without being too thick to where you'd have to struggle to close the door.
