The basic parts needed to flat tow your 2013 Chevy Sonic includes a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Since a fuse will need to be pulled I do recommend picking up the fuse bypass and a charge line kit to prevent your battery from dying while you're towing it.

Here are the parts I recommend for your vehicle:
Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - # BX1703
Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar - # BX7380 (with safety cables)
Smart Diode Wiring Kit - # RM26FR
Charge Line Kit - # RM-156-25
Fuse Bypass - # RM76511
Brake System - Part # DM86VR hydraulic motorhome brakes or part # DM26VR for air motorhome brakes
High-Low Adapter - See attached article (bracket height is 13-1/2")

The Blue Ox base plate kit and tow bar parts you mentioned are great options for the physical connections between your motorhome and Chevy. The smart diode wiring is for vehicles with a variable voltage setup, like your 2013 Sonic, and then the fuse bypass and charge line kit make it easy and simple to disconnect that fuse and keep your battery from dying during towing.

I really like the brake systems because they install permanently on your vehicle but out of the way - this makes connecting and disconnecting your vehicle much faster and it's less parts you have to think about storing and getting out when you go to travel.
