Recommend Air Bags For A 1997 Ford F-350 Two Wheel Drive With In Bed Reese 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

Sir, Maam, I have a 1997 Ford F-350, Crew Cab, Long Bed dually, Two-wheel drive, 7.3 liter diesel, E4OD automatic transmission that has what I believe to be a Reese Universal 5th wheel hitch in the bed. I occasionally haul an older Lance cabover camper that overhangs my bumper I believe it is a model 920 with slide out. I would like to air-bag my truck to add some more stability to it. My questions is: Which, if any air-bag systems do you recommend that would work on my truck with the Reese Universal 5th wheel hitch installed? Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this inquiry.

When installing air bags on your 1997 Ford F-350 two wheel drive with in bed Reese 5th wheel hitch The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL88298 will work with your truck and are intended for trucks equipped with Reese 5th wheel hitches.

These air bags have a 5,000 pound capacity, and have internal bumpers, so you can get the adjustable load support of air springs and the comfort and reliability of jounce springs. The airbags are constructed of 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber which are very durable. These air bags have an adjustable air pressure between 5 psi to 100 psi.

Using these springs will not increase your vehicle's weight-carrying capacity. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight limit.

The Air Lift Load Controller Compressor System # AL25856 lets you monitor and adjust the air spring mentioned above independently with a dual-path, in-cab controller. This system will detect when air pressure in your helper springs falls below minimum safe level.
