Yes, you will want to cross the 40" Vinyl Coated Safety Cables with Clevis Hook (Qty. 2) by Dutton-Lainson, 6,500 lbs. # DL20119 when you're installing them.

The idea behind this is that they will cradle the trailer tongue if it becomes disconnected, which will result in a safer stopping situation if you're able to do so quick enough.

For the Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar the recommended length for replacement safety cables is 80 inches. Roadmaster lists the coiled cables part #RM-674 which are coiled only for a small portion of the cable and are straight for the rest of it.
