Can a Coiled Safety Cable Be Threaded Through The Guides of a Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar
Question:
I have a question regarding the Roadmaster coiled safety cables that you demo on this site with the Roadmaster all terrain falcon tow bar. I see that you thread the cable through the guides which makes a neat tnstallation. But, according to Roadmaster manufacturer, this cannot be done with those cables and straight cables are supposed to be used. I also noticed that it appeared that the hook to hitch connections did not cross beneath the hitch to opposite side to prevent pole vaulting. Am I missing something here with this installation, although it certainly looks neater the way you do it.

You are half right. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and you can run coiled safety cables like the part # RM-643 through the safety cable guides of a Roadmaster Falcon tow bar part # RM-522, it is just more difficult and not the recommended way. However, you are totally right and the cables should cross right behind the tow vehicle for if the tow bar was to become unattached.
