Recommended Sway Control for a 2016 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Hey I have a 2016 Honda Odyssey with this hitch 76025. Im installing a brake controller and 7 blade connector. We're looking at a camper with a dry weight of 2800 lbs. With water and gear were looking at about 3200 lbs. That's under the towing capacity of the van but its close. he hitch and van are rated for a tongue weight of 500 lbs so that shouldnt be an issue. Are we ok towing something like this? Do we need anything else to tow it safely?

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 76025 you have on your 2016 Honda Odyssey isn't able to use a traditional weight distribution system but I do recommend adding electronic sway control since you are going to be towing such a heavy trailer. The Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control item # 335TSC-1000 limits side-to-side movement of your trailer during towing by activating your trailer's brakes to automatically correct the sway. The accelerometer monitors speed and determines the brake force needed to correct sway at that speed.

I have linked a review video below.

I have listed the parts below you will need to add a 7-way and a brake controller to your van if you do not already have them:

7-Way Vehicle Connector - Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118521 and the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller item # ETBC7.

Brake Controller - Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90885
