Does Jack Height Matter When Picking Out A-Frame Trailer Jack

Question:

I want to buy an a frame trailer jack. I see different heights. Do I measure how high the jack I have now goes up. And my trailer can hold 10000 lbs so I would get a 10000lb jack. Thank you

In general you don't have to verify the height range of an A-frame trailer jack before buying it as they all typically can go up and down more than far enough to accommodate the standard differences in trailer heights at the tongue. We do have the Ultimate Trailer Jack part # 322-RDJ-2K which would be a really great option. It lets you set the height you want the main tube of the jack to be relative to the mounting bracket so you wouldn't have to worry at all.

Also the jack only needs to be able to lift the tongue weight of the trailer which the Ultimate can lift 2,000 lbs and would be more than enough to work well and be easy to use.
