Compatibility of Reese 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30047 with Bed Rails Previously Used for RBW Lil Rocker
Question:
I currently have an older RBW Lil Rocker 15k fifth wheel hitch on my 02 F250. I do not what kind of bed rails it came with. Will this hitch work with those existing bed rails if my lil rocker hitch fits? What advantage would I get by upgrading to this hitch? I have heard that these dual jaws can sometimes come undone.

Typically, RBW bed rails will only have four mounting slots. The Reese # RP30047 will require slots in the bed rails measuring about 22 inches apart on center and 20-1/2 inches apart on center measured side to side, as you can see in the provided photo I have edited for you. If your existing rails have slots in these locations, they should work just fine with the Reese # RP30047 hitch you referenced.
A dual-jaw hitch like the # RP30047 will hold the king pin safely and securely, providing good ride quality. If the fifth wheel is properly hitched, and the locking latch on the handle is slid into place, the jaws will not open. For further security, the latch has a hole in it that will allow a padlock to be inserted that will prevent the hitch jaws from opening unless the lock is removed.
