Wedge For Reese Sidewinder RP34FR & Demco Recon 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

Have ordered a Demco Recon DM 8550043 from etrailer and a Reese sidewinder 69220,with a SWW-5 Wedge from others. For a 2023 Ram 2500 4x4 with Rambox 6.5 bed. Have been told this would be a correct setup for towing a 5th wheel camper. Just want to double check the setup. Now wondering if the 5th wheel will ride higher and transfer more weight to the rear tires of the 5th wheel. New Camper hasnt been picked up yet awaiting hitch parts.

Hey John,

Thanks for the purchases and you have everything you need except the wedge. I verified directly with Reese that the correct wedge to use with the Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550043 and Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR is the following:

- Sidewinder Wedge Kit for B&W, Demco, and Husky Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP74FR

The other wedge is for the older model of Sidewinder, and the # RP74FR is the only applicable version for this model of Sidewinder with the Demco hitch.
