You will not have to do any trimming or cutting on the bumper fascia to install the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # 13342, on your 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML350, however, you will have to drill 2 holes through the trunk pan and do a little trimming on it before you reattach it. I have attached a link to the installation instructions for you to check out.
You will use the hitch as a template to drill the holes and the receiver of the hitch will sit directly below the rear bumper fascia. This is a 2 inch trailer hitch that is compatible with any bike rack with a 2 inch shank.
If you are in the market for a new bike rack as well, I have attached a link to all of our 2 inch hitch mount bike racks as well as a link to the most popular bike racks for our Mercedes-Benz customers for you to check out. The most popular bike rack among our Mercedes-Benz customers is the Thule T2 Pro XTR Platform-Style Bike Rack, # TH69TX. You can carry 1-4 bikes on this rack.
