Once you have run through the entire flat towing process outlined in the owners manual of your 2022 Chevy Colorado 4WD you'd want to leave the selector in neutral.

Look for knob on the dashboard. This will most likely be the last position on the right of the knob and be an "N" that will illuminate when placed in neutral.

First apply the parking brake and start the engine. Then shift the transfer case to N (Neutral). Verify that the vehicle is in N (Neutral) by shifting the transmission to R (Reverse) and then to D (Drive). There should be no movement. With the engine off, leave the key in ACC/ACCESSORY to prevent the steering column from locking.

For flat towing, you will need base plates, a tow bar and safety cables, a wiring solution for your indicator lights and a supplemental braking system.

- Base Plate, Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM37VR

- Tow Bar, Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar, # RM-522

- Safety Cables, RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643

- Tow Bar Wiring, Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15267

- Supplemental Braking System, Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524

Per the owner's manual, you will need to disconnect the negative battery cable to flat tow your vehicle. To do this I suggest the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766.
