Installing Curt Echo On 2018 For F-150 With Upside Down 7-Way Connector
Question:
My vehicle is a 2018 F150 with tow package. The 7 way connector on the truck appears to be upside down. In other words when I plug the echo in aligning the groves on the echo and the vehicle the echo is upside down. Hence the indicator light on the echo is on the bottom. Help.

It is not uncommon to have a connector like the # HM40975 installed with the 7-way on the top or "upside down." Also, the way this is cut out on the bumper you will not be able to flip it around to change the orientation. The good news is you can still use the Curt Echo # C51180 with your 2018 Ford F-150.
Although the light won't be directly visible, you will still be able to see it and also see the color reflecting off of your vehicle connector cover. The Echo works in any orientation so it doesn't matter if it is upside down, right side up, or sideways as long as it is secure in your 7-way.
I have attached an installation video on a 2019 Ford F-150. If you look about 30 seconds in you will see the Echo installed upside down just like yours.
