Maximum Height of Bunks On CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer

Question:

The inflatable I am planning to transport is a Catamaran. The pads are supposed to fit up under the boat supporting the floor with the side tupes extending a few inches lower. So, the manufacturer strongly suggests that the pad mounts be able to extend the pads 12-inches high up off the trailer and fenders. Can the stock pad hardware do that when they are extended as high as they go? Do you have extension hardware that could be added to make it so? If not, do you think it would be easy enough to find at a hardware store or such? Thanks. Boat Dimensions: Person Capacity 4 Hull Weight 139 lbs. 111 lbs. with Hull only Length 14 ft. 4 in. Beam 6 ft. 8 in. Interior 1110inch L x 5foot 3inch W

The taller of the two sets of bolster brackets that come with the # CE48870 are 12" tall. With the swivel bracket on top that is going to put you at 13". Add the height of the board on there which is 2" so that puts you up to 15". Now considering the crossmember and the slight bit of the bolster bracket that hangs down you'll be at around 11-1/2" just shy of the 12" you're looking for.

To be safe, I would go ahead and get the CE Smith Double U-Bolt Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10196G-4 and use them instead, along with the # CE15283GA-8. These have an overall height of 16-1/4" so you won't have any problem getting the clearance you need. With 3" of height adjustment you can get them right where you want them for your Catamaran.
