Best 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for a 2019 Prius Prime Advanced

Question:

I’m planning on using this hitch for my e-bikes bought carrier from etrailer last year and also for pulling my 2006 SportsRig Micro trailer which I pulled with my 2006 and 2012 Prius. The weight of the trailer when loaded will be approximately 400 pounds. Which hitch would you recommend for this type of usage?

The best hitch for your 2019 Toyota Prius Prime is going to be the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7369. This hitch is custom fit and bolts directly to your Prius with included hardware. This hitch is the only one available that will match your Prius' 300 lbs tongue weight capacity and give you the strength you will need to carry two e-bikes and the bike rack. It is also the only available option we have that will work with the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches item # S94FR you purchased last year.

If you need a wiring harness to control the lights on your 2006 SportsRig Micro trailer, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # TK66VR. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area on both the driver's side and passenger's side.

To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C11473 you were looking at will fit your Prius and be a great option if your two e-bikes and bike rack weigh less than 200 lbs. This rack however only has a 1-1/4" hitch receiver. If not you will need to go with the Ecohitch.
