Do the Cradles Move Freely when Kayak/SUP is Not Mounted on the Rhino-Rack # RR570?

Question:

If you leave these Rhino Rack Nautic Roof Carrier on your vehicle without the Kayak do they Flip, Flop and Rattle and move? If so that would be a daily annoyance!

The center hinge pin on the Rhino-Rack Nautic SUP or Kayak Carrier # RR570 allows the cradle to move freely when a kayak or SUP is not installed. For this reason, there can be some movement of the cradles when not carrying a watercraft. In order to absolutely avoid this, you can remove the cradles when not in use. The movement of the cradles is shown in the attached video at timestamp 5:25.

If you plan to leave your cradles installed with no kayak or SUP, I recommend using a different solution in order to avoid the flip-flopping you mentioned. I recommend using the Inno Multi Cradle Kayak Carrier # INA452 for a kayak or the Thule Shuttle # TH811XT for a SUP or surfboard. The Inno fits crossbars as long as they don't exceed 3-1/2" wide x 1" tall and requires the use of a roundbar adapter # INISF715 if you happen to have round crossbars. As far as the Shuttle, this carrier fits crossbars up to 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall and requires the # THXADAPT12 if you happen to have Thule AeroBlade crossbars. In order to make sure your crossbars are compatible, I recommend measuring the height and width of your bars.

In addition to the straps included with the Inno carrier, I also recommend using bow/stern ties # 8860050.

I also went ahead and attached demo videos of these alternative carriers as well.
