TurnoverBall System and Sliding Hitch for a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500

Have a Chevy 2022 2500 HD Standard bed 6 3/4 to pull a 2021 Cedar Creek 388DB. Will mount a BandW Turnover Ball: BWGNRK1020, do I need a slider or is the BWRVK3500-5W non slider sufficient?

I would be happy to help you set your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 up for towing. Since you do not have the factory prep package you will need the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs item # BWGNRK1020. This system mounts beneath the bed of your truck and allows for complete access to your truck bed when your 5th wheel hitch is not in use. I have linked an installation video below.

Unless you are using a rotating pin box on your 2021 Cedar Creek 388DB you will need to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch with your short bed Chevy. The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W will work great with the TurnoverBall System. The built in slider gives you 12" of travel front to back. The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # BWRVK3500-5W you referenced will not be sufficient for making tight turns or backing your trailer. I have linked a review video below.

The B&W Companion weighs over 250 lbs. If that's not something you're interested in moving by yourself and don't want to have to rely on someone to help you then I recommend purchasing the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device for Companion and Patriot Hitches item # BWRVXA3130. This heavy duty steel tool lets you lift your B&W 5th-wheel hitch from your truck bed with a hoist. The 5th-Wheel jaws clamp around the device for a secure grip.

Don't forget your lube plate. The Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10" Diameter item # RP83002 will prevent scratches on your fifth-wheel's skid plate and ease trailer hookup.

To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
