Adapter to Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer with a Gooseneck Hitch in a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Short Bed

Question:

Are either of your Reese Goose box compatible with and RBW 7027 or a Lippert 0516? I currently have a gooseneck hitch installed in my truck and I do not want to add a fifth wheel also. My ball is not centered in the bed due to the frame. I am also concerned with clearance over the bed. I have a 2013 Chevy 2500HD short bed

Neither Goose Box adapter, # RP85FR nor # RP94716-61301 is compatible with the Lippert 0516 or RBW 7027 pin box but I do have a great option for you.

For an adapter you can use the the Andersen Ranch Hitch # AM3100. I have linked a video review of this adapter for you.

Use the formula below to ensure there will be enough space between your truck cab and trailer when executing a 90-degree turn.

(A + B) - C = Clearance

A = Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw or gooseneck ball to truck cab

B = Length of offset

C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)

At least 4 inches of clearance is recommended to safely execute a 90 degree turn.
