Recommended Weight Distribution System For A Timber Ridge 24 RKS Travel Trailer

Question:

Ive ordered a new Timber Ridge 24 RKS TT. Dry hitch weight 700#, 4 GC 6 volt batteries 250#, propane tanks 100#, unknown stuff in front storage at this point. Im planning to buy an Equalizer 1200# WDH. Question. What if my tongue weight actually ends up being 1300# 100# over the WDH spec when everything is loaded? TV is a 3500 DRW 4WD with air bags. Should I be buying a 1400# WDH instead? Im probably 80 sure the tongue will be less than 1200#, but...

When it comes to putting a weight distribution system on your Timber Ridge 24 RKS travel trailer The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 12,000 pounds GTW, 1,200 pounds TW # EQ37120ET will be the proper one you will need if your trailer is in the proper tongue weight rating. When choosing the correct weight distribution hitch you need to be as close as possible to the tongue weight of the trailer. If you're a lot lower or a lot higher then you will cause more sway which be dangerous. I would recommend figuring out what the exact tongue weight is before choosing the correct weight distribution system.

The # EQ37120ET has a tongue weight between 800 pounds to 1,200 pounds, and has a gross towing weight up to 12,000 pounds. They system has no-drill clamp-on brackets that can be adjusted along the trailer frame, and has a dipped steel construction which is durable and corrosion resistant.

Using a weight distribution system will evenly distribute weight over the axles of your tow vehicle and the trailer for stability and control which will create a level ride for both tow vehicle and trailer.
