Reduced axle sag with Timbren suspension enhancement

Just like the rear of your vehicle will sag under the weight of a fully loaded bed, the front of your vehicle will sag when under the burden of heavy equipment such as a snowplow. In this case, the front axle is handling not only the weight of the equipment, but also more of the vehicle's weight. Overall vehicle handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.

Install diagrams of Timbren hollow rubber springs

The Timbren system comes with custom-fit brackets that are bolted onto each frame rail above your front axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down so that the bottom of each spring touches the axle. Because each spring is making constant contact with the axle, it is always working to cushion and support your factory suspension.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping your vehicle level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's-side or passenger's-side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you're carrying off-center loads.

A snowplow mounted to the front of the truck will require extra suspension support for the front axle.

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System will help raise the front end of your vehicle when you're using heavy equipment like a snowplow. This ensures that your headlight beams will be pointed in the right direction and tire wear will be reduced. If the plow is off-center or has an extension, the springs will automatically compensate for this as well.

An empty truck on a bumpy road without Timbren

Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Compared to the Competition

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. More elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

Service was spot on. Shipped the same day I ordered the springs. The installation video helped me through the installation. As many of us know installation can be frustrating. The timbres springs went on with minor frustration. There is a definite difference in the ride compared to the original springs. I would recommend this product to improve your ride quality.

by:

I installed Timbren on front and rear of Georgetown motorhome. The install was easy and the improvement in overall handling was noticeable. No more bottoming out on bad roads, and a reduction in sway or lean in and out of turns. Worth the money, especially in conjunction with my other bolt on upgrades. Safety steer, Rear sway bar, and Rear trac bar

2004 Ford F-53

Wow, what a difference. Installed on a 2005 Allegro Open Road 30 ft motorhome that has a 2004 Ford F53 chassis. It raised the front ride by an inch or two, so it looks less "saggy" up front. Also took the chatter out of a lot of small bumps in the road. MH feels much more stable on the road and has less roll/lean when corning. Install was pretty straight forward. Only have about 40 miles on them to date, but will give them a good test on a 1200 mile trip in a few weeks.

by:

The installed system works great. The installation was WAY harder then the video suggests because of the limited space to work. Maybe a bit misleading

by:

This made an immediate & very noticeable improvement in ride comfort & control. The steering wheel feels less loose & way fewer wheel swinging corrections while driving down the road. Even my wife (passenger) noticed the difference - especially on bumps in the road. I wish I did this several years ago.

Delivery was extremely slow and got the items late and the box came ripped up and all hardware was lost in shipping! I waited 4 days for the item and called them and they sent out all new hardware and had to wait another 5 days for the hardware. They really messed up my coming trip with my motorhome, I would not recommend this company to anyone, honestly the lousiest service you can get from a company! I do belong to several RV groups, I’ll let them know about the bad handling of my problem.

I used the Timbren on my 2008 Fleetwood Terra. I tried these instead of airbags. It leveled the front of the rig for a couple hours after installation but went back to normal shortly after that. It made the ride a bit more comfortable but it did not fix the issue of the front lean.

I am wondering if air bags would be a better choice since you are still exeperiencing leaning in the front. It could be that the water tanks and or the propane tanks are creating more weight that is recommended for the springs. As a precaution I recommend also taking a look at the front suspension to make sure that it is all in good working order.

by:

Best investment for suspension so far!! Had wind, semi’s and large dips in road sway our 2015 Bounder all over the road. With the timbrens installed took care of almost all of that! Big dips, Bounce one time, done. Semi’s pass no issue, Wyoming winds cuts right through!

2022 Coachmen Mirada Motorhome

While I haven't installed the Timbren items yet, I want to commend the outstanding service from etrailer.com. My RV dealer wanted list price for these plus freight. I bought them for almost $100 off list for each, with free shipping. Since I have no faith in the RV dealer anyway, this was a no brainer. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Arrived with some metal dripped onto the threads, which won't allow me to thread in the bolt at all. Immediately reached out to e-trailer for a solution and they simply sent me onto Timbren, saying they don't handle issues with quality of the products they sell. Spent a lot without assistance from the place I purchased from. Not standing behind products you sell is not what I've read from e-trailer, so very disappointed I chose to purchase here. Will be sending back alongside the other purchases I made at the same time so I can buy from a place that will stand behind the products they are shipping out.

It seems that these are defective. So, when it comes to Timbren, they prefer to handle all defects and warranties on their own. I highly recommend you contact them for a replacement.

by:

Ordered a set of front and rear Timbren suspension enhancement systems. The front had a minor defect, which was easily fixed, the rear however had a major part missing and required the assistance of etrailer. etrailer fixed the problem very fast and rushed my needed part to me the next day.
The only advise I would give etrailer is to use a better packing box, instead of the box that Timbren uses.

Tiffin

After receiving both front and rear suspension enhancement systems I installed them in roughly 45 minutes. I then took out my motorhome to see the difference in the ride. I have to say these spring enhancers truly work and change the handling of a 38 foot tiffin motorhome. No more sway, smoother ride, hardly any tail wag when passed by semis, over all better handling in turns. High suggest these over any other brand,

2019 Fleetwood Southwind Motorhome

Too early to give a ride review but I received the TFFF53B fronts and the TFRF53A rears for my 2019 Fleetwood Southwind 35K while at a campground this week. Easy enough to change out while there. It is about.a 2 hour job to change out all 4. The front right took me the longest and you have to reuse the existing bolt. A washer should be provided because the hole in the bracket is almost as large as the bolt head. I will be placing a large flat washer there. The rears took less time to change.. I used the first and third slots in the mounting brackets and they actually put the unit more over the center of the axle than the original bump stops. Same was true in the front. No clearance issue or interference with my trac bar.

Have had these on my RV for over a year nowhere and I am completely satisfied. The fact that these always maintain contact with the axles greatly reduce body roll on turns and uneven roads.

THEY WORK!! They make my 36' class A easier to drive. Much less side to side sway and I only put a set on the front.

by:

I'll let you know more when I install them in the spring! just got them today, Thanks.

by:

Reduced the bouncing when traveling at high speed. Works better than I expected

Hello,

To follow up on my purchase
of my TIMBREN, I am not satisfied. I find that it gives a suspension too hard and feel all the imperfections of the road. I just had them installed. I prefer the SUMOSPRING that I had on my other RV.
I would like to know if it is possible to return them and exchange them for SUMOSPRING knowing that I have a MIRAMAR 33.5, 2016.
Thank you for following up with me as soon as possible.

I can tell you that Timbren does have the 30 to 60 day satisfaction guarantee. I will have our customer service team reach out to assist you. I checked and for the 2016 Thor Mirama 33.5 I do not show that Sumosprings offers a kit. We do have Airlift options available. Part # AL88240.

2017 Ford F-53

I installed the front and rear Timbrens on my 2017 Georgetown GT5 class A. The installation was pretty easy, except for the tight areas getting the wrenches on the bolts. The front passenger side used the original bolt to install on my frame. Installation took about two hours to complete the front and back. It would be quicker if you use power tools, but I wasn't in any hurry. I've driven on two trips now with them, and they made a noticeable improvement on the rocking sideways back and forth. The motor home seems a lot more settled now with wind and traffic.

Joe

Its been a year now owning the Timbrens on my RV. and they are holding up great and work great on stopping the rocking back and forth. I recommend them to anyone whos considering upgrading their suspension.

Neither of these options will come into play unless the factory suspension gets compressed.
