Can Saris Bones EX Hold 3 Bikes on 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack
Question:
I have a 2017 VW golf altrack - will this hold 3 large 27 inch mens mountain bikes without having to take off the front wheels? several of the bike rack reviews have comments of needing to take off the wheels or that they will not hold the larger bikes only the womens or the smaller ones. thank you

I haven't heard or people having to remove the front wheels when placing bikes on the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack # SA803 but it wouldn't surprise me if that's something people have ended up having to do. Hanging style racks like this are notorious for making it difficult to install multiple bikes on so it ends up just being the nature of the beast. You should be able to alternate the way the bikes are facing and be able to wiggle them in to fit on the rack.
If you'd like a rack that has more room between the cradles you'll need to use a hitch mount bike rack so we need to get a hitch on your 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, for which I recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7315 since it has a 2" receiver so you can carry more than 2 bikes. Then for a bike rack you can use the Yakima BackRoad # YA44FR which has 7" between the cradle centers which should be 2" more than what the Bones EX has.
Attached is a review video of the BackRoad for you to check out.
