2 Anti-Rattle Device RM-061 Can be Placed on the Underside of a Hitch Opening

Question:

Can this be placed on the underside of the hitch? Plus will the screws come loose when driving on bumpy roads and if it does will the screws fall out or is there a safety device to prevent that? 2005 4 door colorado Z71

Expert Reply:

Yes, the 2 inch anti-rattle device, part # RM-061, can be placed on the underside of a hitch opening, as long as clearance allows it. The nuts will not vibrate loose as long as they are securely tightened down. Keep in mind, this device should be removed when you are towing your trailer. It cannot handle the tongue weight of a trailer and could be damaged.

There is not a safety device made specifically for this part.
