What Does The E.R Error Code On My Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller Mean?

The "ER" code that you're seeing on your Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 indicates that there is an internal fault with the unit, and unfortunately will need to be replaced.
When it comes to replacements, you can either replace the unit with the same brake controller, or, you can use a different brake controller that will utilize the same wiring as the Tekonsha Primus IQ.
If you're interested in another brake controller compatible with your existing wiring, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 or the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 will work great.
Both of these controllers feature 3 boost levels that will let you adjust initial braking power and aggressiveness, a customizable, easy to read LED display, and has a quick disconnect feature that lets you easily remove and store the brake controller when not in use.
