Fixes For Rough Riding 5th Wheel Trailer If I Have EZ Flex Equalizer And Trailair Air Ride Pin BOx

Question:

We have 2021 42 foot Cedar Creek with Dexter EZ Flex Equalizer and Trailair Air Ride hitch pin. Tow vehicle is 2020 Ford F350 Diesel with air bags. Trailer pulls nicely most of the time but when we go over overpass the dips in pavement cause a push/pull effect that at times is very unnerving. What do you recommend to eliminate this push/pull effect when we hit dips in pavement?

If you consider your setup for your travel trailer as a complete system, you already have parts in place on your trailer's suspension, pin box, and airbags on your tow vehicle to help reduce road chatter and chucking. The last item in this system is the 5th wheel hitch itself.

If this is something you wish to explore, I recommend going with a 5th wheel hitch with built-in cushioning like the

Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider - Dual Jaw - 24,000 lbs, part # C16566
Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch - Ford and Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package, part # C88KR.

This 5th wheel hitch comes with cushioning to absorb road shock. If your truck has the OEM prep package and compatible base rails, all you need is the 5th wheel hitch. If you decide to go this route, I can help you narrow your selection if you let me know if you have the OEM prep package on your 2020 Ford F-350 Diesel.

I have included product description links and a video of this 5th wheel hitch being installed on a 2022 Ford-F250 below.
