What Do I Need To Install A Redarc Tow-Pro Elite In My 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question:

I bought a Redarc tow pro elite and am installing it in a 2020 Silverado 2500. I also got an extra wiring harness that was recommended for my vehicle, but it’s not quite plug and play. Am I supposed to cut off the one end of the harness and splice it to the one that comes with the Redarc unit? Do I just match the colors up? Thanks!

You do not have to splice the any wires. You will need to order one more harness, if you want a plug and play setup. As you mentioned in your question, the reason your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 2 Braking Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, part # RED44FR, and the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers, part # 3064-P, are not working is because your Tekonsha wiring harness does not connect to a Redarc brake controller. You will need to add the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness, part # 331-TPH-017.

The Tekonsha adapter is a plug and play adapter. One end plugs into your vehicle's brake controller harness. The other end plugs into one end of the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter. The last plug goes to the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite. You should not have to do any wiring splicing with this setup.

I have included product description links, video review links, and a video of the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite being installed in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 below.
