For a complete towing setup for your 2017 GMC Acadia, you're going to need a base plate, a braking system, a tow bar, tow bar wiring, and a high-low adapter.

For a base plate, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523189-5. This base plate kit is simple to install, easy to use, and will provide your vehicle with a nice, clean look when not in use.

Following a base plate, you'll need a tow bar that is compatible with the base plate, and will be able to support the weight of your 2017 GMC Acadia. I recommend the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676.

This tow bar has a maximum capacity of 8,000-lbs, will work great with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # RM-523189-5, and also have integrated LED lights to provide more visibility in low light conditions.

Next, you're going to need a braking system. I recommend the Roadmaster BrakeMaster Braking System with BrakeAway for RVs with Hydraulic Brakes # RM-9060. This is a permanent install system, that will connect to your vehicle's brake light switch.

With this braking system, you're also going to need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751483, and the RoadMaster BrakeMaster Custom Seat Adapter # RM-88326.

Finally, you're going to need tow bar wiring # RM-154, and a high-low adapter # C59KR.

You're going to want to measure the rise and drop needed for your vehicle first before you choose one. I have attached some videos, as well as a FAQ on how you can measure rise and drop.
