Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution for 1,000 lb Tongue Weight and 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Question:
Have a 2021 Jayco Jay flight 28BHS, upgraded from a Puma. Currently using a Equalizer 10,000/1,000TW. My trailer is right at a 1,000TW , or slightly over based on 15 gross weight: gross weight of 8,800Lbs, 6,950 dry will never see gross weight. Do I need to step up to a 12,000/1,200TW or greater? Since I am under gross trailer weight, just tongue weight concerns, is it possible to just buy upgraded shank? If have to go to 12,000/1,200, possible to get with 2.5inch shank? Have 2.5inch on 2019 f250. Do not like spacer I currently use on my 2inch shank Equalizer. Thanks,

Since you are at point where you should probably go to a higher tongue weight range setup, you need a new shank, and the bars and heads of the Equal-i-zer have to be replaced together if changing tongue weight range you'd be best served to go with an all new kit with the # EQ37121ET that you referenced and a 2-1/2 inch hitch shank part # EQ90-02-4800 and you'd be set.
