What Hitch is Recommended for the 2010 Kia Soul to Tow a Boat Trailer

i was curios as to what hitch setup would be reccomended for towing a jon boat with trailer for my 2010 kia soul? would this car be suitable for towing such a boat and trailer due to how low the back of the car already sits to the ground?

The three 1-1/4-inch hitches we offer for the 2010 Kia Soul are all Class I-rated and have a tongue weight capacity of 200-lbs. These light-duty hitches are ideal for use with accessory items like bike carriers or for light towing. The link provided will take you to our product page for all three hitches.
All require temporary lowering of the exhaust for installation.

Your Soul owners manual will indicate if it is rated by the manufacturer for towing a trailer; if so the manual will indicate the maximum allowable gross trailer weight (GTW). As long as your boat/trailer weight does not exceed the rated towing capacity of your Soul, or the 2000-lb maximum rating for a Class I hitch, then you can tow it with your Soul. An installation video is provided along with written instructions. We offer Draw-Tite # 24839 which does not include the ball mount, or the pin and clip (part # PC2).

If the heights of your trailer coupler and hitch ball are different you can select a ball mount with the appropriate rise or drop to match them. It is important that your trailer frame is level when it is hitched to your vehicle. I have provided a link to our page for Class I ball mounts; you can use the filters at the left-hand side to select the one with the appropriate rise or drop to match your hitch ball and trailer heights.

You will also need to order a hitch ball of the appropriate size to match the coupler on your trailer - either 1-7/8-inches or 2-inches. We offer parts # 19256 and # 19258. If your Soul does not have a 4-pole flat trailer connector at the rear bumper you will also need a trailer wiring harness to connect the lights on your Soul to the lights on your boat trailer.
