Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter
A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

2012 Kia Soul
Hitch for 2012 Kia Soul was the best deal I could find for a class I. Instructions said 30-40 minute install. It may have been if I could get the factory tow hook off the vehicle. Couldn't break the nuts free. Cost me $40 to take to local shop and have them install. Not e-trailer fault though. Otherwise, very good product. Perfect for pulling my little 4x6 trailer.

The car manufacturer and the harness manufacturer could care less for the poor slob that does the installation. On the drivers side I wasted the better part of an hour trying to feed the plugs down the not so clear channel they tell you to use. On the other side the same problem. I then cut the green & red wires fed them DOWN in a few seconds, spliced in connectors and had the job finished in a flash. the manufacturer could spend another 10 cents for connectors and advertise "1/2 hour installation"

Very easy to install after watching video. Product worked exactly as it was supposed to. Only problem with this would be make wires going across car to passenger side tail light just a little longer it was very close to being to short.

2011 Kia Soul
Purchased this excellent product and it was shipped right away as promised. The tracking feature you provide is outstanding and I was able to follow it all the way to my local post office. Lousy thing was they held it for 3 days, but that's the post office not etrailer.com. The kit worked exactly as promised and after about 30 min wrestling with my bumper it was plug n play! Perfect! I have purchased several products from etrailer.com and the quality, service, and price cannot be beat. I was at a local hitch shop buying a new ball and they asked me where I got my receiver hitch from. I said, etrailer and they said they are going to put us out of business with their prices! I just laughed. Thanks again guys!

2010 Kia Soul
I really disliked needing to drill a hole into the car body for this harness. You'd think they could find a way to use the hitch for ground. Other than that, it was fine. The plugs were nice; they made so that I did not need to splice into the wiring. They fit perfectly. Threading the wiring through the bumper was a bit of a challenge, but I eventually figured it out. I used the zip ties to hide this up and away as much as possible, since I don't really intend to ever actually haul a trailer; the hitch is there for my bike rack.

By all means do not try and cut into your wiring harness in order to get lights for your trailer! Buy this complete kit and 30 minutes after you begin the installation you will be glad you did! All parts snap together as well as the factory connectors. Just be sure and flip the electronic box over so that the green and red wires that go to the passenger side will be in the "down" position. If you don't, the harness is just a bit too short to reach the tail light plug and re-attach the light assembly. Save time, aggravation and possible electrical problems with this neat wiring kit. Tip: Order it with your hitch and save on shipping costs!

2014 Kia Soul
Purchased for a 2014 Kia Soul as it would be easy to connect to lamp socket and not cut into existing wires. The kit arrived, and noticed a wire had bad insulation with bare wire showing, (see the poor quality picture) which I had to cover with electrical tape. Next issue the cable from the drivers side to the passenger side lamp was too short to reach the passenger side lamp socket by 6 inches. This Cable DID NOT WORK WITH A 2014 KIA SOUL, the body is wider than the 2011-2013. Due to lack of time we could not exchange or refund and had to splice extensions into the cable. It worked great after that.

Worked well once installed. Installation would have been easier of there was a little longer wires going from right side to left. Also it would;d be helpful if the instructions suggested exactly where to mount the black box on the drivers side. If you don't get the right spot the tail light assembly won't go back on. A little hard to get that right.
Great product and no cutting and splicing wires and guessing which ones to use etc. Goo customer service and prompt shipping.

Wow! Do not hesitate to use this company! The customer service is excellent and everything was just as described. We even ordered a wrong item that wouldn't fit and they called us to make sure it was really what we needed. Who does that anymore? No one! Most companies would have just shipped it. The hitch was easy to install, took about 30 minutes. directions were very easy to follow, as were the instructions for the wiring for trailer plug. The only issue is that the ball location is one inch from the rear licence plate. It works but I would prefer more clearance when hooking up a could create a safety issue.

2008 Kia Rondo
This is the second product I have purchased through etrailer.com. The first was a trailer hitch for my 2008 Kia Rondo. In both cases the order was shipped and received very quickly (within 5 days using the cheapest standard shipping). What I realy like is the instructional videos that walk you through the installation. If you google the product and etrailer, you can find the link quite easily (or I'm sure you can navigate there within the etrailer website. After watching the video I installed the trailer hitch without a hitch (pun intended). I have not yet installed this wiring harness, but did watch the video before purchasing to be sure it was something I could do on my own.
For the do-it-yourselfer, etrailer has made life easy!

2014 Kia Soul
I purchased the T-One harness so I would not have to splice into the wiring harness on my Soul. The harness was simple to plug in. Running the wires in the bumper and up the right side of the vehicle is much easier if you have some clearance under the vehicle. I backed up onto a set of ramps but a floor jack and stands would work just as well.
The only real issue I had was with where to mount the black box. The only way I could attach the box between the body and tail light assembly was if I positioned it on an inside flat on the light assembly itself. I ended up mounting it down inside the bumper to get it out of the way and to allow the light assembly to be disconnected completely from the vehicle.

2011 Kia Soul
Installing this couldn't have been any easier. The installation videos really make things simple. I also got the trailer hitch bar and new vent covers for our motor home. All fit perfect and installations were a breeze. Etrailer is a great resource for many many things. Thanks!!!

2007 Kia Rondo
Definitely beats the hell out of splicing/soldering/taping wires while keeping you fingers crossed. Took me maybe 20 min from opening package to testing the harness. Most difficult part was finding a safe path to route the wire from one tail lamp to the other without having the wire come in contact with the exhaust system.

Works great for my 2014 Kia Soul. I had to use a string to pull the passenger's side harness into the tail light fixture area, but was fairly easy to install and the wires tuck in nicely under the vehicle.

Kia Soul
This is the second T-one connector I have purchased. The first is in the mangled rear end of my totaled Kia Soul. The plug and play makes installation easy. No cutting or splicing, just unplug the tail light connectors and plug in the T-one. Routing the wires from one tail light to the other is takes the most time and requires a little planning so that you will be able to secure the wiring; zip ties or twist ties are required for a tidy job.

2013 Kia Soul
Easy twenty minute install on my 2013 Kia Soul+. The only problem I had was finding a spot to mount the the T-wire black box. It does does not fit behind the tail light module so I mounted it behind the fender below the tail light compartment. Works great.
