Sizing of Ramp Springs

Can I use 1.5inch springs on a ramp with 1.25inch bar?

The Ramp Spring, 2K Torque for 1-1/2" Round Shaft, left-hand, # RS16933LH is intended to fit a 1-1/2" round shaft. Placing on a smaller diameter shaft does not cause it to be ineffective but it will be less effective than if properly fit.
