Butt Connectors For 10 Gauge Wire For Electric Trailer Brakes
Question:
I watched several of your videos about hooking up the brakes on my 2 axle enclosed snowmobile trailer. All of the videos indicate I should run #10 wiring for the brakes. But all of the connectors to connect those wires to the backing plates are for less than #14 wiring. What connector should I use?

I believe you are asking about the proper butt connectors to use with 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1 when wiring your electric brakes. And all you'll need are heat shrink butt connectors, which will work even with 14 gauge wire coming out of your brake assembly as they'll shrink around it. What you can use are the following:
- Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge # DW05745-5
Then for a heat gun you can use either Heat Gun # PT47VR or # PT67FR.
