Comparing Roadmaster Base Plate Kits for a 2006 Honda Element EX
Question:
etrailer shows 2 part numbers for the Roadmaster base plate. 1541-1 and 1541-5. The pictures show a difference in the removable attachment points for the style of tow bar. 1541-1says excluding EX-P and 1541-5 says EX-P excluding EX-P. A bit confusing. A VIN search shows my 2006 Honda Element as EX. Further research shows the only difference between the EX and EX-P is painted panels. Which base plate is the correct one for my vehicle? I have not purchased the tow bar yet.

Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # 1541-5 and Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit part # 1541-1 are both fits for a 2006 Honda Element EX. The former is a more seamless design and what I recommend but the latter will still work if you're trying to save money on the tow bar. The Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar part # RM-504 is designed for the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit and the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar part # RM-522 is designed for the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit.
