Does Weight of Weight Distribution System Count as Tongue Weight

Question:

I have a 2019 Kia Sorento V6 with AWD that has a towing capacity of 5000 lbs and a tongue weight of 350 lbs. My trailer has a GVW of 4200 lbs and a dry tongue weight of 330 lbs. From what I have read any weight behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle adds to the tongue weight. Does this include the weight of the weight distribution hitch? The equalizer 6K hitch weighs approximately 100 lbs. If the weight of the hitch is included this would put the tongue weight between 430 lbs. dry and 520 lbs. fully loaded with 10 on the tongue. Will this overload the vehicle or will the weight distribution be able to distribute this weight.? The curt hitch will handle 750 lbs of tongue weight.

This is a really good question. So we've asked our weight distribution manufacturers this and they have told us that the weight of the WD system like the # EQ37060ET does not count against the tongue weight of the hitch or vehicle because it essentially is becoming part of the hitch of the vehicle.
