Can Shorter Hardware be Used to Install a Rackem Ladder Rack on a 5x8 Cargo Trailer

Im installing the rack on a 5x8 Hallmark Cargo trailer. I was hoping to get my hands on shorter mounting screws. The screws are going right through the interior wall of the trailer! Maybe 1inch or 1 1/4?

In the hardware you are using is too long then going with slightly shorter screws is permissible as long as they are the same style and grade as the original hardware. I would take some of the hardware with you to a hardware store and compare them to what the store has available so you are sure to get the right size.
