How Can I Use the Hollywood Racks RV Rider when Towing My Travel Trailer?
Question:
We bought a bike rack for our two long e-bikes 50 axle to axle, 53 and 73 pounds each. We can use it on our Chevy Suburban. But how do we bring our e-bikes with us when towing our 17 Casita? I know we need a frame mount, but do we put both on the back of the Casita or do we split the difference and put one on the hitch and one on the back?

From looking at your recent order with us (thanks so much!), you have the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR. This particular bike rack is not constructed to withstand the force/torque on the rear of a travel trailer like your 17 Casita. With my available specs on your 17 Casita travel trailer, it has a dry weight of 2,480 pounds.
Since you already have a rack and a hitch installed on your Chevy Suburban, the most convenient option is to use the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # D210. With this adapter, you will be able to attach the RV Rider to the top portion of the adapter and still attach a ball mount on the bottom for the ball coupler. With the bottom portion, you will be able to mount a ball like the 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/8" Long Shank # 63845 for the trailer connection.
In order to determine whether you have enough room between your suburban and your 17 Casita to accomodate the RV Rider, you need to factor in the length of the rack from the pinhole as well as the 7-1/2 inch length from pinhole to pinhole on the # D210. In order to know for sure if you have enough space, I recommend measuring from the center of your hitch's pinhole to the front face of your trailer. That measurement needs to be greater than 39-1/2 inches in order to not interfere with the trailer.
It is important to note that the you will decrease the overall weight capacity of your hitch by 50% if you only use the accessory receiver on the # D210. While this reduction will not affect your weight capacity while towing the Casita, it is worth noting.
