Recommendation For Hitch Mounted Bike Rack To Carry 2 E-Bikes Behind Sprinter RV

Question:

I'm looking for a bike rack to carry 2 e-bikes that weigh about 65 lbs each. However, most of the racks I'm seeing explicitly show they are not for use with motorhome. I'm wanting to use on a Sprinter based RV with 2 inch receiver type hitch. No spare tire on the back of RV so no clearance issues with that. Why are most of the racks not recommended for RV? Thanks.

Most bike racks are not recommended for RVs because they are designed to ride behind a personal vehicle like a sedan, truck, SUV, etc. and not an RV. The pressures and strains exerted on the racks are greater behind RVs because there is more "bouncing around" that puts extra stress on the bike rack that can cause the rack to fail.

Because of the weight of your bikes, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Platform Rack, Item # HLY84FR. The Sport Rider SE is rated on the back of motorhomes. It has a carrying capacity of 2 electric bikes with each bike having a maximum weight of 80 lbs. It works with tires up to 5 inches wide and a maximum wheelbase of 60 inches. The rack has both the tilt away and fold up features. The Sport Rider is easy to install and locks are included.

I have attached a video for you to check out.
