Trailer Fender And Fender Steps For A 1975 Murray Boat Trailer With 13" Wheels

Question:

Hi, I have a 1975 Murray boat trailer. The diameter of the trailer wheels is 13inch but the tire is 4.80 x 12. Do need a 12inch or 13inch wheel fender? The trailer has slipper springs mounted to the underside of the frame, at 27inch from front bolt to the end of the slipper springs. Your fender part # CE19502-2 shows the inside distance at 21inch I can not see how this will fit my trailer without interfering with the motion of the slipper springs. The original fenders were metal with three brackets that bolted directly to the frame, unfortunately after nearly 47 years, metal fatigue caused each bracket to break in half where it was bolted to the frame. I want to change the configuration and though going with plastic fenders made sense but having a difficult time seeing where the support brackets part # CD2612G will bolt to my trailer frame and not cause an issue with the motion of the slipper springs. Any help you can provide for a work around would be greatly appreciated.

For your 1975 Murray trailer, you'll want to use the CE Smith Single Axle Trailer Fenders w/ Top and Side Steps # CE19503-2 which is designed to fit 13" wheels and measures 29-3/4" for the inside portion, and 33-3/4" for the outside portion. Since you mentioned that your slipper springs are 27" from bolt to end of springs, these will not pose an issue for your springs.

The CE Galvanized Steel Step # CE26212G should not cause an issue since these will mount underneath the steps on the fenders which should be out of the way.
