Differences Between The Redarc Tow Pro Elite Versions 1 Through 3
Question:
I watched you video about how the choose a breaker controller. Very helpful. Could you please help me understand the differences between the Tow Pro Elite, Tow Pro Elite v2 and Tow Pro Elite v3? I have a 2020 Ford Expedition Max Limited. Thank you.

The only difference between the 2nd and 3rd versions of the Redarc Tow Pro Elite is size of the control knob, with no functional changes being made. The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR (version 3) has a smaller knob, adding more versatility in where it can be mounted.
As for the first version, it did not have 24v system compatibility, the control knob did not meet ADR21 safety standards, didn't have active calibration, and did not have a proportional mode (inertia sensor).
Versions 1 and 2 are no longer available so you will need to use the third version, # RED44FR. I've included a video below where Dave will walk you through the installation on an older year model Expedition to help walk you through this process.
