For a 2007 Mini Cooper S Model, there is only one option, the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, # 521877-1. For a tow bar, I suggest the Roadmaster Falcon 2, # RM-520. This hitch-mounted tow bar has stainless steel, telescoping arms that automatically lock into place and its large hookup radius allows you to connect without the need to perfectly line up your vehicle; this makes connecting and disconnecting so much easier.

You will need safety cables, I recommend the Roadmaster 80" Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-653.

For lighting I suggest the bulb and socket kit # RM-155. Installation video is linked below. This kit lets you use your towed vehicle's brake, running and signal lights without tapping into its wiring. It works via independent plugs and sockets mounted inside the tail lights.

For supplemental braking, required by law, I suggest the system preferred by our installers, the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO proportional system, # SM99251. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
