Adapter For Blue Ox Tow Bar to Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plates on 2019 Lincoln Nautilus

Question:

I have a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus 2.7 I am setting up to be towed by my 2021 Newmar Bay Star Sport 2813 gas coach. 1. I have a Blue Ox Tow Bar not sure which model and the wiring parts coming from the coach to the car. Your video says that BX2680 is difficult to install, so I will get your RM-524461-5. Is RM-032 the correct adapter? 2. I will get the recommended braking system, SM99251, since my coach does not have air brakes. Please confirm that this is correct. I want a braking system that is not portable but is relatively easy to move to another tow car when the time comes. Does this braking system fit this bill? 3. Will also get the RM-15267 but your video says that this will require additional components to get this up and running but doesn’t describe what they are. 4. Will also get RM-766. 5. Is there anything else I need?

Okay, we can get you set up, and let's start with the tow bar adapter, for which you'll need a different one than the part you mentioned for the Roadmaster base plates that fit your 2019 Lincoln Nautilus, which are the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524461-5.

These are direct connect base plates, the correct part is the following:

- Roadmaster Adapter Kit for Blue Ox Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars # RO64FR

Let's move on to the braking system, and for one that is not portable but is able to be transferred when the time comes, you can absolutely use the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251.

The # SM99251 is a fantastic system that gives you really smooth braking, and if you want to transfer it you would just need the Demco SBS Reinstall Kit # SM6270.

The Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 will also work for you, but you are right you will need another part, but that is just a diode for each brake light, which you can get with the Roadmaster Hy-Power Diodes (Qty 2) # RM-792.

You will also need the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766 like you mentioned, and the only other thing you may need that you didn't mention are safety chains if you don't have them, the Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables # BX88196.
