Recommended Hitch With Best Ground Clearance For A 2022 Audi Q7
Question:
Hi. I have a new 2022 Audi Q7 that I need to get a hitch for. I will be using it with a Curt cargo carrier C18150 that I actually got from you guys about a year ago. Upgraded my car but kept this. What do you have available for me? I want something with the best ground clearance I can get and preferable hidden, if possible. Thanks.

The hitch I recommend for your 2022 Audi Q7 is the Curt # C13277. This American made hitch will be a pretty involved install, but once finished will have a clean, stock look as only the receiver tube will be able to be seen. So no ugly cross tube. This will also be great for carrying a cargo carrier, like the Curt # C18150, as it is rated up to 7,000 pounds towing and 700 pounds of tongue weight capacity (which is the one you will need to keep an eye on for a cargo carrier), but you will need to check your owner's manual for your vehicle's capacities. These do look to change depending on how your Q7 came equipped from Audi.
I do also have to mention that, as of this writing, we have not yet had the chance to install one of these, so we do not have a video or measurements currently. However, I did go out and measure from the center of the lower most bolt hole to the bottom of the receiver and the inner top of the receiver opening (typically how the height of a hitch is measured). I got 9" for the bottom of the receiver and 6-1/2" for the typical measurement (picture included). If you were to measure from the corresponding bolt on your Q7, this will tell you exactly where the hitch will sit.
I do have two potential add on parts to go along with this hitch as well. As you said you will be using the Curt # C18150 cargo carrier, I suggest adding a locking pin, like the Curt # C23519, if you do not already have one. This will keep the rack secure in the hitch if you will be leaving it installed for long periods of time. The other thing, which I highly recommend, is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. This will clamp the shank of the carrier in place and keep everything from bouncing around or moving. Again, this is highly recommended
