Heavy-Duty Cargo Carrier For Class C Motorhome

Question:

I have 2009 itasca navion class c with a hitch rated to hold 500 lbs. I’d like to find hitch rack that holds a 30 inch x 23 inch box and 90 lb generator. Would like hitch rack that states acceptable for class c . Will this hitch rack work? C18112 What is the heaviest duty you have available?

We do have an option for a hitch cargo carrier that will work for your Class C motorhome, is rated for 500 lbs, and is able to carry your gear. While there isn't one that will specifically state "Acceptable for Class C" what you will need is a cargo carrier with a fixed shank and not a foldable carrier:

- 24 x 60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs # 63153

The Reese # 63153 is the heaviest-duty carrier with inside dimensions of 60" long x 24" wide x 5-1/2" deep so it will be able to carry your 30" x 23" box and generator. The other carrier you mentioned is a lighter, folding carrier, and for a Class C you want the stability provided by a fixed shank.

The only other thing you will need to go with the carrier is a pin and clip or hitch lock, the Pin and Clip # PC3 or Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232.
