Improving Current Gray Water Waste Dump System

Question:

My gray water tank currently utilizes a Valterra T1001C waste valve with a 1 1/2” to 3/4” adapter I believe the part number is T01-0091VP I connect a garden hose for draining. This takes to long at a dumping station. I can cut off the above waste valve if needed, but what can I put in its place to drain more quickly. I’m looking for a valve, connectors, hose, etc. that can accomplish this.

If you have the Valterra Waste Valve for RV Gray Water Tank, # T1001C installed to your 1-1/2" sewer pipe and this valve is then attached to a Valterra gray water drain adapter, # T01-0091VP, then to a garden hose, yes, I can see that you are draining slower than optimal.

My suggestion is to first remove that Valterra adapter, # T01-0091VP. This is usually put in place for purpose of attaching a garden hose to the tank for the purpose tank cleanout, not draining. Use this connection to force water back into the tank for purpose of rinsing out the tank or using the water pressure to dislodge a blockage. Another, but less common use is for draining the tank as you are, but when boondocking and not at a dump station. Many will use the setup you have to drain their gray water tank slowly into a filter system attached to the outer end of the garden hose. This filter system captures all the particles from the gray waste allowing them to be ecofriendly in their waste disposal while boondocking. In this situation a slowly draining gray tank is more acceptable than when at a dump station.

Since you are willing to cut of this valve and replace, I suggest doing that and replacing it with the Bristol Double RV Waste Valves - Sanitation Tee - Rotating - 3" and 1.5" Hubs, # 34466ND15AAR. This RV sanitation tee combines your 1-1/2" waste valve for gray water and the 3" waste valve for black into one connection point for dumping.
