Recommended Heavy Duty Firestone Kit To Combat Sag When Towing With A 2022 Ford F-250 4x4
Question:
I need to do something about the back of my 2022 F-250 Super Duty sagging when I pull my 5th wheel camper, which weighs a little over 20,000 pounds fully loaded. I've only done it a couple times now and it's pretty bad. I was originally looking at the Timbren jounces as they are pretty heavy duty, but I don't tow all the time and have decided to go to a Firestone air bag kit so I can adjust them. What do you recommend for my truck? It is a long bed 4x4.

If you are experiencing a good amount of sag when you are towing your 5th wheel camper with your 2022 Ford F-250, I highly recommend going with a Firestone air bag kit. If you had said you towed a lot, I may have steered you towards the Timbren kit # TFR250SDJ as it is heavy duty, but there is no adjustability. This is why I wouldn't recommend it for your case.
With that said, I suggest going with the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F95FV. This will give you up to 7,500 pounds of load leveling capacity at 150 psi, but can be deflated down to 5 psi returning you to the stock ride. This is the reason I recommend air bags over jounce upgrades as I like having the ability to go as heavy as I need, but then as soft as I need as well. This is a very highly recommended system.
One potential add on, though, will be a compressor kit, like the Firestone Air Command II # F2219. This will allow you to fill and deflate the bags on the fly and not have to rely on an external compressor unit. It is definitely a nice thing to have.
