Recommended Mounting Hardware for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track # TWSP72TA On Aluminum Trailer

Question:

Which aluminum screws or locking bolts type, length, etc would you recommend to secure the floor track to my 6x10 ft aluminum trailer. I have 5 molded hollow aluminum beams under the trailer bed and will try to tap into some of them? I am using the tracks to secure a UTV on my trailer. Thanks

The mounting points for the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track # TWSP72TA are spaced every 12" with the 6' track having 7 mounting holes. The hole opening will accept a 1/4" countersunk screw and I recommend using a stainless steel screw for mounting on your aluminum trailer. The length will depend on your particular trailer and how thick the floor is and if you tie into the aluminum beams with any of the screw holes. This will vary based on your spacing of the aluminum beams.

You will need to source the hardware from a local hardware store when you know the length of bolt that is needed. For any mounts that do not go through the aluminum beams in your trailer you should use some mounting plates to help spread the weight across the floor. You can use either some large stainless fender washers or an aluminum or corrosion protected plate to spread the load of the mounting hardware on the bottom of the trailer.

The Tie-Down Anchor for 1,666lbs # TWSPDSTD225 has a larger 2-1/4" ring opening for attaching your UTV straps while the Tie-Down Anchor for 667lbs # TWSPSSTD has 1-1/8" ring opening for smaller straps. The weight of your UTV will determine how many anchors and straps are required for your application.
