Question:

I want to add a electric fan to my 2013 lightning enclosed trailer roof vent. What are my options?

All of the fans and fan motors that we offer are replacement items for roof vents that came with fans.

If the roof vent in your trailer did not come with a fan, then you may be able to add a fan, but you will likely have to fabricate a mount for the fan in the vent. You will also want to make sure there is enough room in the vent to install a motor and fan.

The motor that I recommend is the Replacement 12 Volt DC Motor, # BVD0218-00. This motor comes with a bracket and mounting screws that you may be able to mount to your vent. You can use the Ventline Replacement Fan Blade, # BVD0215-00, with this motor for a complete power fan assembly. The motor measures 1-1/2 inches long, so you will want to make sure you have that space available to install the motor.

I have attached a photo that shows how this motor and fan install in a roof vent.
